Parent Involvement
Volunteer Requirements
Parent Volunteers are viewed as a huge asset to Creative Inspiration Journey School (CIJS) and are an integral part of the Reggio philosophy. Families are required to volunteer a minimum of 15 hours per academic year. Parents/guardians with multiple enrolled Scholars are required to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours.

- Classroom help
- Organizing supplies
- Fundraisers & School Events
- Front office support
- Tutoring
- Mentoring
- Marketing
- Furniture assembly
The volunteer commitment must be fulfilled by June 30 each school year. Families that do not comply with this policy are subject to sanctions up to and including unenrollment for the following academic year. For example, in the 2024/2025 academic year, the commitment should be fulfilled by June 30, 2025. Enrollment could take place effective July 1, 2025 for the 2025-2026 academic year.

In-School Volunteering:
Want to volunteer on campus or during events?
- Volunteering on campus during school hours or for any event requiring interactions with students will require a background screening. All parents must be registered in order to volunteer on the campus. The application must be completed annually.
- CIJS uses the Osceola County Public School Oasis program.
- CIJS is grateful for volunteers. However, in an effort to give our teachers the opportunity to get to know their students and establish routines, we cannot permit parent volunteers in the classrooms at the beginning of the year.
- Parents who are unable to volunteer are permitted to get family members to contribute, which will count towards your families required hours.
