1st Grade’s Out-of-This-World Adventure!

Our first graders had an incredible field trip to the Kennedy Space Center, where they explored rockets, experienced interactive exhibits, and discovered the wonders of space!

This hands-on experience ties directly into Florida’s first-grade science standards, helping students understand the sun, moon, stars, and gravity—all while igniting their curiosity and critical thinking skills.

As a Reggio-inspired school, we believe learning should be immersive, inquiry-based, and connected to real-world experiences. What better way to inspire young minds than by letting them see, touch, and explore the wonders of space firsthand?

This is what makes CIJS so special—our students don’t just learn from textbooks, they learn from the world around them!
